Hi Folks,

It is early Saturday morning and I am reading through the newspaper and I have found that many of the plant stores, a.k.e., Garden Centers, that try to compete with the Farm by sponsoring Mother’s Day sales. At the same time many of the food establishments, or restaurants (derived from the French phrase “too lazy to cook something good”), are offering Mothers Day brunches and dinners. Now I’m not stupid so I can put two and two together and discovered that this may be Mothers Day weekend. My advertising department blew it again; they failed to take an opportunity, albeit created by Hallmark, to lure you down to the Farm. Their first awareness of
Mothers day is usually that phone call from Florida on Sunday evenings that begins with “You lousy son, you forgot....”

So anyway, I do feel guilt and want to make it up to all you mothers out there. Especially the nucleus group subject to my email. So I am going to offer something free to any of you that come down to the Farm in honor of their Mothers on this important weekend. I could have said Mothers Day Sale; this Saturday and Sunday ONLY! But that would be tacky and crass advertising; a skill I am first developing.

So you are asking, What is he going to give away this time? Another tomato plant! Yes. Any member may come down to the farm and receive one 4 inch (pot size) Brandywine tomato plant free with any purchase. The mother of all good tasting tomato plants. If you don’t want that you can get a parsley plant or somethin. So moms come on down or send your child. Now for those of you that left all your planting to us we have another offer. A free cup of our new beverage; iced
green tea flavored with ginseng, lemon, and honey. Or a cup of coffee; whatever. One deal to a member unless you can talk me into allowing both.

I also would like too take this opportunity to remind everyone of the Artisan’s Fair and Plant Sale next weekend. There will be Horace demonstrating his potters wheel and Darcy teaching felt making and Carla complaining about weeds.

          NOTE      NOTE

You must print out this email and bring it to the store for your free gift and beverage. Your member number needs to be written on the printout. Nothing is really free in life.
