 Educational and School Tours
at Coonamessett Farm

Welcome!
Children today are disconnected from their source of food and fiber. One way to bridge this gap is through a visit to a working farm. Coonamessett Farm's knowledgeable staff welcomes the opportunity to show off our farm to school groups, scout troups, play groups, gardening clubs, senior groups and others interested in farm education and local agriculture.

  • Five greenhouses with demonstration hydroponic and aquaculture production
  • Various types of farm animals including alpacas, goats, sheep, donkeys, chickens, & ducks.
  • Ten acres of pick your own fruit & vegetable production.
  • A farm store, cafe and covered picnic area for your enjoyment.

A typical 2-hour farm tour will include a welcome and age appropriate farm orientation, a guided tour to learn about and observe plants growing in the fields and greenhouses, and visits with our farm animals, plus an optional seasonal hands-on activity.  Groups are welcome to bring a brown bag snack or lunch to enjoy after their tour.  We look forward to working with you to match your group's individual needs, interests, or curriculum guidelines with our farm's various educational opportunities and experiences.
Pricing

$6.00 per participant ($60.00 minimum per group)

Optional seasonal hands-on activity (for example: potting a flower or herb plant, harvesting seasonal produce such as pumpkins or berries, exploring natural fibers) is an additional $1.00 per participant.

No charge for teachers, adult chaperones, and siblings under 2 years of age.
We require one payment from your group upon arrival at the farm.
